What a Wonderful Fun Day in Upper Lighthorne!

The Parish Council would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made the Summer Fun Day such a resounding success on Friday 25th of July.

It was truly uplifting to see hundreds of residents enjoying food, games, crafts, and conversations across both the Bowls Club and playground venues.

A huge thank you goes to our brilliant partners—Sage Homes, Orbit, Bromford, Trustgreen, and all the supporting organisations who brought energy, smiles, and generosity to the day.

Special recognition to Emma and Gary for their tireless dedication—not only today but every day—helping make these events feel like home.

We’re also incredibly grateful to the following residents for their amazing support:- Sue R, Rene, Lorna (Nature Group), Sarah (Time Bank), Alwyn, Gillian, Sam, Amelia, Village Hall, WRCC, St Wulfstan, Neighbourhood Watch, Deep breath. Lauren, Zoe, Steve, Sue G, Warwickshire Hearts, Fire Service, Neighbourhood Police, Mikey Perks on the Football, George and lsla being brilliant coaches! And all of our friendly neighbourhood developers for providing face painter and games with over over 80 faces painted!

Thanks as well to the Avon Valley Bowls Club for hosting with such warmth and care.

The local Nature Group has sprung into action with a beautiful initiative that’s already turning heads - and planters - in the village square by Kings Grove.

There are some great activities on during the week to keep you active and spend time with your neighbours.

Thank you Paint Stratford! What a great event, we're so pleased with the results and the amazing creativity of everyone who took part.

Thanks to everyone who offered their support to arrange this event and support on the day, we'll definitely be doing it again soon, so please share your thoughts on where we could paint next.

The community plots at the allotments in Upper Lighthorne are growing beautifully, and we’d love for you to be a part of this journey. Spring has already brought so many amazing changes, and as summer approaches, we’re excited to see the plots flourish even more.

We’re thrilled to share that the young trees in Upper Lighthorne’s community orchard are thriving! Pears, apples, and even a few early cherries are beginning to show—thanks to the hard work of our brilliant volunteers and neighbours.

We’ve had some beautiful harvests at the allotments lately - what a joy to see so many dinners bursting with flavour and community spirit.

From leafy greens and vibrant roots to soft fruits and crunchy veg, it's been a season of sharing and swapping the best of what we’ve grown together.

A big thank you to all who joined the hedgehog-themed Decorate a Plate event at Upper Lighthorne Park recently - it was a joy to see so many creative plates and smiling faces!
